CMEC Hosts a Delegation from Dubai

The delegation, headed by Mr. Al Hinton, an advisor with the Department of Economic Development, Government of Dubai, gave a seminar entitled ‘Why Dubai’. Taking place at Communitech, the seminar attracted representatives from local Waterloo Region businesses, economic development organizations and academia.

Hinton talked about the Dubai Plan 2021. Highlights included planned activities to have a smart, sustainable and healthy living environment for a vibrant, tolerant and inclusive multicultural society.

Together, the two organizations led a 67 member Canadian trade delegation, to Saudi Arabia from April 25th to April 30h 2016.  The eleven-member CMEC team included business leaders, academics and government officials from the Region of Waterloo.
